Wishlist: Long Haul Flight Fashion Essentials

January 30, 2018

I AM SO EXCITED.

In just three short months I’m going to jumping on a plane (the longest journey I’ve ever made) and flying all the way to Bali for 10 days culture, candids and cocktails. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for something in all my life and as it’s is the furthest I’ve ever been, I feel like I need to start preparing for my long haul flight as. soon. as. possible.

When I moved to California for the summer during University the flight was 11 hours and to be honest, I don’t remember it being too bad. I ate quite a lot, slept for hours and watched a million episodes of How I Met Your Mother. The time passed pretty quickly and luckily, I was comfortable the whole time.

I think ultimately, it’s down to what I wearing.

When it comes to short flights I don’t really put a lot of thought into what I wear on the plane and normally through on some leggings, a dress and a cardigan. It’s comfortable and that’s all that matters, right? As long as I’m not in jeans, I’m happy.

For long haul flights I kind of feel that it is a little different as you need to wear something that you’re happy to wear in public, but also that is comfortable to sleep in – as if you’re anything like me you’ll be asleep 90% of the flight. So, with that in mind, here are a couple of things from Esprit that I’d LOVE to get in time for my flight to Bali in April.

1 Trousers / 2 Trainers / 3 Jumper / 4 Bag

I don’t normally like to wear trousers for a flight but these are a nice fit, yet made from the same fabric that jogging bottoms would be. I can only imagine how comfortable they’d be, especially as there’s no button digging into your stomach while you’re sat down for hours and hours (17 to be exact).

Although I get pretty warm when getting on a plane, by the time everyone has put their air conditioning on it is freezing! That’s why, I’ve picked this thin jumper – something with a happy medium.

For comfy shoes that will survive a layover and walking god knows how long through three different airports, I decided to go for these white trainers. I don’t own many pairs of trainers and have been meaning to get some for flights as I find them so comfortable.

I imagine for a 17 hour flight I am going to need lots of supplies including snacks, books, an eye mask and some toiletries. With that in mind I thought I’d pick a big bag that is both stylish and generous with size. I loved the design of this one, so much so I am super tempted to order it right now.

I am SO excited about my trip and knowing I’m a little more organised with what I’d like to wear for the flight is definitely making me feel a little bit more at ease! What do you wear for a long flight?

Love the jumper! During long haul flights I’m all about being comfortable. Leggings and a baggy hoodie ftw x
