Plus Size Travel Too x Bali October 2020

October 26, 2019

SURPRISE!! I’m only going and bloody hosting a Plus Size Travel Too trip to Bali next year ??☀️

It’s been a long time in the works but after lots of planning, gadventures and I have put together the perfect 9-day Bali itinerary for Plus Size travellers. Travelling from Kuta to Gili T, you will have a chance to explore Bali’s famous temples, swim with sea turtles whilst snorkelling and go island hopping for a few adventurous days. With incredible experiences and great company, I honestly can’t wait to host the trip of a lifetime ??

Having been to Bali in the past I know how scary it can be to navigate as a plus size traveller. Although at times difficult, I still had an incredible time and I would love to share that experience with you using all of the tips and tricks I learnt during my first visit.

Working together with gadventures, we have made sure that the Plus Size Travel Too x Bali trip is 100% accessible to plus size travellers. This means plenty of space on the bus, accessible activities, no small hostel beds and lots of free time to recover from the heat.

How Do I Book?

If you want to book a space on the Plus Size Travel Too x Bali trip, all you need to do is call gadventures on 0207 313 6953.

You need to quote 1513195 in order to access the booking.

You can either pay the £200 deposit or pay the trip off in one go. The final balance is due 90 days before the tour starts.

Once you have booked, send me an email at [email protected] to let me know.

Q & A

How Many Spaces Are There?

There are 16 spaces on the trip altogether.

Is It Just For Women Or Can I Bring My Husband?

Absolutely everyone is welcome! If your partner or a friend wants to come too, that’s 100% okay!

What Currency Do I Need?

You will need Indonesian Rupiah, which should be ordered at least two weeks in advance.

When Should I Arrive?

The tour starts on the 23rd of October, so I would recommend arriving on the 22nd at the latest.

Although you can arrive during the day on 23rd, chances are you’re going to need a little bit of time to recover from the long flight.

How Do I Get To The Welcome Hotel?

If you’re staying the night before I would recommend booking a night at either the welcome hotel or something nearby in Kuta or Seminyak.

Once you arrive at the airport you have a number of different options when it comes to getting to the Kuta area.

  1. You can prebook your transfer with gadventures.
  2. You can prebook your transfer with a driver.
  3. You can catch a taxi as soon as you arrive (most expensive option).

The journey is roughly 30 minutes from Densapar airport.

How Do I Get From Gili T at the end of the trip?

The trip ends on an island so in order to fly home, you need to make your way back to Bali by boat.

This cost is not included in your gadventures tour so I would recommend factoring it into your budget. You can book with gadventures for £80 or book online for roughly £35. You need to book the fast boat from Gili Trawangan to Padang Bai. Once you get to Pangang Bai, you can explore more of Bali or head straight to the airport.

What Are The Hotels Like? Do You Have To Share A Room?

As this is a budget trip the hotels reflect that, HOWEVER, budget hotels in Bali are pretty incredible and all of the hotels on our trip are absolutely gorgeous!

Yes, the price is based on twin sharing. If you want to choose who you share with, I’m more than happy to accommodate that.

Do You Get Any Free Time?

Yes! There will be plenty of free time for you to fit in the activities you want to do. Whether it’s visiting the latest instagramable cafe or spending the afternoon on the beach, there will be lots of time when you can separate from the group.

What Types Of Activities Are There?

The activities include Monkey Forest, a Balinese cooking class, snorkelling, lots of temples, island hopping and the famous rice terraces.

Do I Need A Visa?

If you have a UK passport, you do not need a visa to enter Indonesia for visits of up to 30 days. If you’re travelling to Indonesia for more than 30 days, you should apply for a visa before you travel.

If you’re travelling from another country, please check the visa requirements.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Bali authorities are becoming a lot stricter when it comes to immigration so if you have a damaged passport, you might not be allowed to board your flight. Please bear this in mind.

How Do You Travel Around Bali?

We will be travelling by bus across the island until the last few days where we’ll get a boat to Gili T.

The bus is a 32 seater and with just 16 guests on the trip, each person is guaranteed to have enough space to feel comfortable.

The longest journey is a maximum of 3 hours, depending on traffic.

The bout journey is 1.5 hours to 2 hours (it can be incredibly rocky, but don’t let that put you off).

Is There A Maximum Age Range On Your Trip?

There is no age limit. Everyone is welcome!

What Does The Cost Include?

The £599 includes your transportation throughout the tour, a tour guide, your hotels and several included experiences (Monkey Forest, Balinese cooking class etc).

It also includes 8 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 2 dinners.

It does not include airfare, transfers and any other activities and food/drink you need to buy! Speaking from experience, these are all very affordable once you arrive. Snorkelling, for example, is £10pp for 2 hours.

How Much Are Flights?

Flights to Bali from London are roughly £450 - £500. Of course, it might be different if you’re travelling from a different airport.

I’d recommend not booking your flights until the tour is guaranteed, as there needs to be a minimum of 8 people for it to go ahead.

If you need help, gadventures will be more than happy to help you book the best possible flights for you.

How Is The Trip Accessible For Plus Size People?

I’ve made lots of little changes to the tour to ensure it’s 100% accessible for plus size travellers. These changes include:

  • A bigger bus for comfort
  • Swapping several activities that were not fat-friendly
  • Changing the accomodation from hostels to twin rooms

Having been to Bali before I know it can be challenging as a plus size traveller. I wanted to use my knowledge and experience to make the trip as accessible as I could.

When Do We Need To Book By?

You need to book your place before 25th July 2020, however, places will be served on a first come first serve basis. This means that although places will be available until 25th July, you cannot guarantee there will be any left.

OKAY, SO that is everything I can think of at this moment in time but as more information becomes available, I will update this post to reflect that. WHO IS COMING WITH ME??

My mission is simple. I want to help change the way travel looks, showing both brands and society that plus size people really do travel too. In a community where plus size travellers are made to feel unwelcome, I want to inspire and advise people like me on how they can make the most out of their own incredible travel experiences.Join me as I share my own personal experiences, my best tips and tricks and all of the challenges I face along the way. It won’t always be an easy ride, but it sure as hell will be a fun one.

Together, we can change the way that travel looks today
