Sykes Cottages

If you saw my PLB Slumber Party post last week, you will know that last weekend I spent time at the Double House Farm cottage in Wells, Somerset. The cottage was kindly rented out to us for the whole weekend by the lovely people over at Sykes Cottages. As I have already posted about what we got up to, I thought it would be nice to share some pictures of how insanely gorgeous the cottage was.

The outside of the cottage was absolutely stunning, I can only imagine what it would be like in the summer. There were even cute little baskets and wheel barrows filled with fire wood, Sara-Jane added her own autumnal touch to this, which I thought was so creative.

As you walked in you entered the kitchen, probably one of the rooms we spent the  most time in as we were either cooking, baking, eating or taking blog photographs! The space was absolutely huge and yet so cosy, and I loved the little pizza oven that was hidden away behind the main dining table.

We also spent a lot of time in the ‘garden room’, which was a cute little annex off the side of the cottage facing out into the garden. It had an amazing view of the Somerset country side, I couldn’t have stared out the window all day if it wasn’t for the fog. We took a lot of blog photos in here because the lighting was absolutely incredible, not to mention the great brick wall background.

My next favourite room was my bedroom, one of two double bedrooms. The room was bigger than mine at home so it was great to have the leisure of a huge room and no mess for the weekend. I was absolutely in head over heels in love with the tiny windows too. I love how low down they were and even spent time sat there watching the world go by as the church bells chimed in the distance on Sunday morning. It was so peaceful and relaxing compared to my usual hectic life.

It’s been over a week now and I am still not over how amazing my stay at Double House Farm was, I’ve even started looking at how much I would need to live in a cottage in my home town. I don’t think that will be happening for a while. Have you ever stayed in a cottage before? What did you think, is it something you could do forever?
