Our Bali Hotel Itinerary: Ubud, Gili Trawangan, Kuta and Seminyak

March 9, 2018

bali-hotel-itinerary

As if I hadn’t already mentioned my trip to Bali enough times on Twitter and Instagram, I thought I’d start with the Bali content before I’ve even set off (although if you’re counting it’s only 47 days to go).

Originally we were going to stay in one place, but after a little bit of research we discovered that it would be much better to move around a bit to save lots of going backwards and forwards.

After a lot of planning and spreadsheets (yes I made a spreadsheet with the best hotels and their prices ?) we decided to go to Ubud, Gili Trawangan, Kuta and and Seminyak – hopefully with day trips to Uluwatu and Cangu thrown in for food measure!

Premier Inn Heathrow Terminal 4

Before our early morning flight we decided to book a hotel near to Heathrow so that we were definitely there on time. We looked at a couple of different options but in the end it was the Premier Inn Heathrow Terminal 4 was the best option – not only because it’s the closest to our terminal, but because it was one of the cheapest at just £60!

Ubud – Nights 1 & 2

Royal Casa Ganesha Hotel & Spa

The first two nights we’re going to be visiting Ubud in hopes to explore all the temples, rice fields, coffee plantations and Monkey Forest. We wanted a hotel that would be pretty close to everything so we went with the Royal Casa Ganesha Hotel and Spa, right in the heart of Ubud. We’re also dying to try a Balinese spa, so we made sure at least one of our bookings offered spa treatments for an early morning pamper.

I also loved that this hotel has three double beds, making it the perfect room for three people.

Gili Trawangan – Night 3

Oceano Jambuluwuk Resort

When asking people for suggestions what to do almost everyone suggested we visit one of the Gili Islands. We settled on Gili Trawangan (although we may change this to Air) as it looked like one of the more vibrant islands. We’ve basically booked ourselves a little Garden hut at Oceano Jambuluwuk Resort, which is the perfect size for me, Tamzin and Ashton. I’m so excited to explore Gili T, take photos on the swings and maybe go snorkelling and swimming with the sea turtles – something that has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember!

Kuta – Nights 4 & 5

Cara Cara Inn

I’m not going to lie, we’ve booked two nights in Kuta so we can experience the nightlife, the beach bars, the water parks and all the other ‘touristy’ parts of Bali, all in one go. We decided only to book two nights as if we’re drinking loads every night we’re bound to lose valuable exploring time due to hangovers, so instead we’re breaking up the holiday with a bit of a mini break at Cara Cara Inn. This is definitely my favourite one from the whole trip as it’s got so much character and is insanely Instagramable (#sorrynotsorry).

Seminyak – Nights 5 to 10

Bali Reski Hotel

Our last hotel is the one we’re spending the most time at as Seminyak is somewhere where it is easy to travel to other places for day trips, as well as a pretty central place for food, group tours and rooftop/beach bars. I’m so excited to spend the evenings watching the sunset with a cocktail or two on the beach, after a busy day of exploring. We’ve booked Bali Reski Hotel as it was a good price for a great location, as well as being super pretty – although, I wish we could have booked Dash Hotel Seminyak – look how pretty!

Planning this trip to Bali has also got me super excited about future trips to Asia I want to take ASAP. There’s so much there I want to see and tick off my bucket list, that I don’t know where to start. I’m thinking India maybe?

You will not regret going over to the Gili Islands! We went over for one night and my biggest regret is not staying for longer. It’s such a beautiful island and there’s loads to do. Man I’m so jealous!
