5 Ways To Remember Your Travels | Travel

July 29, 2019

Although I have a lot of amazing memories from my travels, sometimes it’s hard to remember certain aspects of a trip. It’s not that they’re something I want to forget, but travelling so often means it’s easy to forget the small things that have happened. From remembering a delicious cake in a coffee shop to remembering the walk from the hotel to the city, I try to do everything I can to remember each and every aspect of a trip I take.

Here are just a few of the ways I remember my travels:

Buy Souvenirs Where Ever You Go

One of the best ways to remember all of the places you go is to buy souvenirs. I LOVE going to souvenir shops and most of the time, I buy the same couple of items. Whether it’s a snowglobe, an enamel pin or a sticker – I love collecting as many bits and pieces from my travels as I can.

Take As Many Photos As You Can And Print Them Off

No matter where I go I am always snapping away and taking photographs. I love to capture every single moment whilst I’m travelling and one of the best ways to do that is through both photo and video. Although I share all of my favourite photographs to Instagram, having physical copies is a great way to keep your memories forever. After all, who knows how long Instagram and Facebook will last?

If you want to display your photographs around your house, you could also consider using canvas prints or photo blocks.

Create A Scrapbook Of Your Travels

If you’re printing out lots of photographs from your travels and you want a place to keep them, why not consider making a scrapbook? Using blank pages you can create any designs you want by buying stickers, downloading SVGs and using bits and pieces from craft stores.

Model Your Home On Places You Have Visited

One of my favourite things to do when I travel is to take a look at interior styles and trends. Each of the rooms in my house has a slight nod to some of my favourite places in the world, as I love to pick up bits and pieces to help me decorate. Whether it’s my Bali inspired living room or my Croatia inspired bathroom, I love that I have things to remind me of my travels dotted around my house.

Keep A Travel Journal That You Fill In As You Go

Finally, having a travel journal is one of the best ways to remember all of the small things you did. If you’re writing down your experiences as you’re doing them, you’re bound to remember more of each and every trip. Whether you read through them every few months or you save them up until the end of the year, you’ll love reading through your travel diaries.

How do you like to remember the places you have visited? Have I missed anything off?

I’m going interrailing next month and I want to remember every second of it! Will definitely try to do all these, especially buying souvenirs, taking photos and creating a travel journal!

My mission is simple. I want to help change the way travel looks, showing both brands and society that plus size people really do travel too. In a community where plus size travellers are made to feel unwelcome, I want to inspire and advise people like me on how they can make the most out of their own incredible travel experiences.Join me as I share my own personal experiences, my best tips and tricks and all of the challenges I face along the way. It won’t always be an easy ride, but it sure as hell will be a fun one.

Together, we can change the way that travel looks today
