AD | GIFTED 🌼 Happy Easter Sunday Instagram! I’m going to be spending the day with family at a BBQ, eating ALL the cake and chocolate. I. Cannot. Bloody. Wait. 🍫❤️
.
.
Also, can you believe this photo was taken on my phone? I’m so pleased with how all of my festival shots turned out, even if I am still washing glitter out of my hair a week later 😂✨
.
.
I also want to point out that no flowers were harmed during the shoot, as we stuck to the tracks that had been made by the tractors for harvesting the rapeseed 🌼 .

AD | GIFTED 💙 So far today I have managed to try baking a cake without turning the oven on, put beef in the slow cooker without plugging it in (at least five hours ago) and have rubbed my eyes after cutting hot chilli peppers. At least bad things only come in threes right? I think it might be time to give up and relax with all of my Easter chocolate 😂🍫
.
.
On a completely different note, how gorgeous is the dress from @joanieclothing? It’s perfect for this incredible heatwave we’re having - especially with a pair of chub rub shorts underneath. The plus size holy grail 🙌🏻 #joaniegal #joaniegals #psfashion #psblogger #psbloggers

AD | GIFTED 💙 So...

Bosnia is one of those countries that really surprised me when I visited. I knew Mostar would be beautiful, but as were driven from Croatia and through Bosnia, I couldn’t take my eyes off the road the entire time. From the stunning mountains to fascinating fruit farms, it definitely made the long drive (and multiple border control stops) worth it ❤️🇧🇦
.
.
Although I only spent a couple of hours in Bosnia and Mostar, I definitely want to go back to explore more of this beautiful country. ✈️

AD | GIFTED 🌼 Don’t mind me, just pretending I’m at Coachella this weekend instead of working ✌🏻

Festival season is well and truly underway and I’m loving all of the out there outfits already. In the past I’ve always been put off dressing up for festivals as I thought I wouldn’t find anything that’s both comfortable and fashionable in my size, but this year I’m spoilt for choice (especially on the @prettylittlething @prettylittlethingplus website 👏🏻)
.

P.S. I think this is my *favourite* photo of me ever 🙌🏻

AD | GIFTED 🌼 Don’t...

I’ve been a little quiet over on my main feed over the last few days as I was busy launching my latest project, the I Travel Too movement. 👏🏻💪🏻
.
.
Imagine flicking through a brochure or scrolling through a website and seeing only straight sized people. As someone with body confidence issues, it’s hard not to feel as though you’re going stick out like a sore thumb throughout your entire holiday. You won’t want to go to the pool, you’ll feel self-conscious on excursions and a night out would feel like a nightmare. Personally I felt have felt all of these things, and more, when travelling.
.
This movement is designed to change that.
.
A couple of months ago I did research into the travel industry to find out just how inclusive their marketing efforts are when it comes to plus size representation. I looked at their websites, brochures, videos and social media channels.
.
The results, as expected, showed that travel appears to be strictly for slim, white, happy people.
.
In fact, 95% of materials I researched include NO plus size people at all.
.
I knew that as just one person I couldn’t make the waves I wanted to. and that’s where I came up with the I Travel Too movement.
.
I knew there were people out there just like me, loving life, living to their full potential and travelling the world.
.
Following the original post, further research showed that 35% of people travelling consider themselves to be plus-size, so I came up with the campaign to show brands that they’re alienating a large portion of their target audience by excluding us from their marketing materials. We’re just as happy, just as fun and just as amazing as anyone else.
.

AD | GIFTED ⚡️ Another day, another door. I think if I don’t stop finding doors to pose in front of I’m going to have to rename my account to kirstyleanneanddoors, as it’s definitely getting out of hand now 🤦🏼‍♀️
.
.
As this has been the first travel picture I’ve posted in a while, I wanted to let you all know that I have something VERY VERY exciting coming soon. Whilst a few of you already know what it is as you’re involved, I’m hoping it’s something that is really going kick start the conversations needed to push the plus size travel movement forward. It’s taken MONTHS of preparation, but it will finally be coming this Friday. This is your 3 day countdown klaxon! I’m so bloody excited/nervous 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣

Do you ever get those days where all you want to do is lie by the pool in the sunshine? If only I lived in a hot country ☀️💙🌵
.
.
I used to hate hot weather countries as I worried that as a plus size person, I would really struggle to cool myself down. No matter what I wore I’d always feel as though I was 100x hotter than everyone else, even though they were probably suffering too. Luckily, I think I’ve *finally* worked out some of the best ways to stay cool, just in time for my trip to the states next month. Good timing too, as APPARENTLY it’s going to be around 30 degrees by the time we reach Florida 😯☀️ #cactus #cactai #cactusinstagram #cactuslovers #cactusflower #instacactus #cactusporn

AD | GIFTED ✨ Okay, okay, I know it’s not Sunday yet but after the week I’ve had I REALLY wish it was. While attempting to redo my theme I managed to break my blog TWICE - it was so bad I actually thought I’d lost my blog forever. Thankfully it’s back now and after I few more tweaks I may even have a new layout I love. Bear with me though, I’m not sure I have the patience to edit each post separately just yet 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

4 Destinations For A Unique Perspective

Posted on

There are many things you might be keen to get out of travel ,and one of them is probably a sense that your idea of the world has been increased, and widened. If you are someone who is looking for a destination which is going to open up your mind and give you a fresh perspective, then the truth is there are many places which are going to be able to do that for you. Some of them are obvious, as they are well known cultural highlights or tourist-friendly spots, whereas some are a little less so, and might surprise you when you see them on a list such as this. Nonetheless, all of them are worth a visit, especially if you are keen to try and broaden your understanding of the world. In so doing, you might even be able to improve and engage further with your understanding of yourself.

Malaysia

Anyone who has never visit Malaysia in the past will not quite know what to expect, as it is not where that is often touted on the news and so on. What’s more, the peninsula is quite diverse, and it’s hard to really pin down a central or general sense of the place. However, in terms of looking or somewhere to visit, there are many worse places in the world, and you will find that visiting Malaysia is bound to help increase your understanding of the world in a number of profound ways. So what can you expect when you do travel to Malaysia, and what about it makes it quite so eye-opening?

In general, the culture has a quiet and easygoing attitude, and it is this which people find to be immediately attractive when they visit. No matter what might be going on nationally, you will find the people to be particularly relaxed about it all. This, coupled with the temperate but not obscenely warm weather, means that you are in the company of a gentle and peaceful people, who can even be more than a little loving with strangers. Malaysia is bound to lift you in such a way that you might not have even expected, and it is the kind of tourism which will have a surprisingly profound effect on you in the long run.

If you are thinking of visiting Malaysia for a short spell, you should find a house for rent Malaysia for fairly cheap, as nothing there is too expensive. Not only does this make things a lot easier, but you will find that you can also allow it to help you get into the groove of being peaceful and loving along with the culture. This is a truly addictive feeling, and one which is likely to stay with you far beyond the actual trip itself. Visit Malaysia if you want to get in touch with your own sense of peace and freedom.

Thailand

Thailand is a much more common and well-known tourist destination, and there is so much that it offers that you won’t be surprised to hear that. If you have visited Thailand before, you will find that it is especially full of friendly and happy people, so much so that it has even been dubbed the land of a thousand smiles. This pervasive easy happiness is something that a lot of tourists find when they go there, and it is also generally what keeps them coming back for more. The Thai people are easily among the friendliest anywhere in the world, and visitors are never made to feel as though they are not welcome. That alone makes for a much easier trip, but you will also find that you find it all too easy to get swept up in and truly intoxicated by the general sense of easygoing happiness in this Thai culture.

That, coupled with the fact that there is a good strong communal sense in Thailand, and you will see why it is that a lot of people even emigrate there. Whether or not you ever do something like that, Thailand is absolutely worth visiting at least, and should be considered essential for those who want to try and improve their understanding of what happiness looks like across the world. If there were a national happiness quotient, Thailand would be scoring pretty highly most of the time, even when there is civil unrest and other aspects of the culture in play. Visit Thailand if you want to learn what a true smile looks like.

Australia

Swooping down now to the Southern Hemisphere, we discover that a few things can be learned from our friends down under as well. Australia is absolutely one of the most famous and favourite tourist spots anywhere in the world, and there are a thousand reasons to go there. You might be keen to go surfing on any of its thousands of beaches. You might even want to brave some genuine bushwalking and go thick into the heart of the land. Perhaps you have always wanted to scale Uluru, or eat some of the best seafood in the world in Sydney and Melbourne. But whatever else you are hoping to do, you will also find that the Australian culture is one which is highly addictive in its sheer amount of laid-back-ness and easy-go-lucky attitude.

The Australians have to be amongst the most relaxed people in the world, and once you have been there a short while you begin to appreciate why. Being gently baked in the sun day after day, with the surf lapping at your feet, means that you inevitably start to feel a little worn away by it all, but in a good way, in a way that washes away your anxieties and worries and leaves you feeling truly like your newfound island self. The greatest testament to this way of being, perhaps, is the accent, one which many tourists find themselves slipping into with surprising ease, which is down largely to the fact that the tonal effect is achieved primarily by relaxing the vocal cords as much as physically possible.

Pinit

All of this only adds to a general sense of being on a true paradiscal island – a feeling which most of Australia does seem to have at all times. Even when the shores and inland towns are battered with storms and cyclones, the people retain a sense of good fortune for living in such  beautiful corner of the world, a corner which really does feel like exactly that – a corner away from the rest of the world, politically and seemingly geographically.

A tour of Australia could do a lot to inform you of the ways in which you can be more relaxed. You might leave having learned how to be the truer you, relaxed vocal cords and white teeth included.

Canada

Speaking of laid-back, we have to at least mention one of the most famously laid-back countries in the world: Canada. Known for their politeness above all else, the Canadians are also a welcoming bunch, and a trip to this stunning country will leave you feeling a little more faithful about the state of the human race. There is not really much of a greater accolade than that, so you know that it is definitely worth visiting Canada at least once in your life. The people will welcome you almost automatically, whether you are in inner Toronto or the middle of nowhere – although some of the wildlife, admittedly, might not be quite as welcoming as the people. If you are looking for somewhere to spend a spell in true relaxation, however, you will find Canada to be more or less ideal for your purposes, and you might even be surprised by the sheer diversity of the people and the landscapes as well.

Pinit

Whether you want a snowy setting or a sunny one, you will be able to find it here, and in any case you will find yourself bathed in one of the greatest hospitality nations on Earth. If what you like on holiday is to feel looked after, you will find that Canada is particularly suitable for you, and in any case it’s absolutely not somewhere to overlook if you are looking for a fresh perspective on how to be nice to others. You might even find that you can get used to the feeling of being looked after, and perhaps this goes some way to explaining why so many tourists end up returning to Canada within a short space of time. Visiting Canada can weirdly feel like coming home even for those who have never been before, and you will find this to be even exaggerated by the sense of welcoming and general communal happiness. There is much to be learned from such places, and a visit here is well worth thinking about if you are keen to do so.

The above can teach us all sorts of things about being human on this planet, and if you are keen to have your mind broadened then they are all worth a visit at your earliest convenience.
