If you have been following me for a while or you’ve read my blog before, chances are you will have realised that I LOVE afternoon tea. Whether I’m finding somewhere local or I’m booking an afternoon treat while I’m travelling, there’s nothing better than spending a couple of hours eating cute little finger sandwiches while sipping on prosecco. Right?
From scones and delish cornish clotted cream in Newquay to the incredibly festive treats on offer at the unique-ly designed Christmas afternoon tea in Bath, I’d like to think I have a knack for picking out the best places to enjoy afternoon tea. With that in mind, I thought I’d share some of my top tips for booking the perfect afternoon tea spot with you!
Consider Your Budget
One of the first things you need to do, of course, is to think about your budget. Afternoon tea can range in price depending on where you go, so having a budget in mind is the best way to ensure you’re not including any places you can’t afford in the mix.
Think About Your Theme
Although you can choose a standard afternoon tea, there are also lots of incredible options out there when it comes to themes. Whether you want to choose a spooky Halloween themed tea or you’re thinking of choosing one that is based on your favourite film, you may be surprised at how many options there are out there.
Research All Of Your Options
Depending on where you’re looking, you may find that there are A LOT of afternoon tea options to choose from. While it may be overwhelming, it’s definitely worth looking at each of them in order to see whether or not they’re offering good value for money. If it helps, you may want to spend some time looking at the reviews on their site.
Take A Look At Their Instagram Accounts
Another great place to look when you’re narrowing down your options is Instagram, as this is where you’re going to find the best photographs of what they have to offer. Although searching their account is the best place to start, you may also find it helpful to take a look at their hashtag or location tag to see what photos customers are posting. This will give you a much better idea of what you can expect when you arrive.
Make Sure You’re Booking In Advance
Once you’ve chosen your perfect spot, you need to be sure you’re booking in advance. Most places that serve afternoon tea will prepare them early on in the day, ready to be served later. If you miss cut off, chances are you’re not going to be able to get an on-the-day slot.
Let Them Know Of Any Allergies Or Dietary Requirements When You Book
When you book, it’s also worth noting and allergies or dietary requirements when you book. If you have requirements such as you require gluten free or vegan options, you may want to try seeking out afternoon tea places that specifically offer that.
With lots of tips and tricks to bear in mind, you can be sure you’re finding the perfect afternoon tea spot. What else do you need to think about? Did I miss anything off of the list? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below!
