Last week I went to my fifth conference run by Traverse Events and I’m feeling incredibly lucky and overwhelmed by the experiences I have been able to have as a result of going to their events.
As I have lots of people asking me ‘are they really worth it?’ I thought I’d create a blog post on exactly why I love Traverse and the events they run each year.
Who Are Traverse?
The Traverse website sums up their events PERFECTLY.
”Dull, stuffy, carpeted generic hotels, with horrible lighting, boasting keynotes with plenty of soundbites but zero takeaways, stingy networking parties, unapproachable speakers and extras to pay for… sounds like your typical conference, right? Well, Traverse doesn’t do typical, we produce an exceptional experience that’s more of a festival than a conference.”
As someone who has been to MANY conferences in the past, there’s always something *different* about a Traverse event. Hopefully, I can give an idea of what that is in this blog post.
What Events Do They Run? And What Is Their Next Event?
So far I have attended Traverse 2018, Traverse 2020, Borderless Live, ReBoot and KeyFrame 22022. I will also be heading to Brno for Traverse 2022 in September so if you’re planning on going, I’ll 100% be there too! To book tickets you can visit their website here.
They also run lots of smaller ‘evening’ events in London throughout the year. The best way to ensure you don’t miss these is to join their Facebook group or sign up for the Traverse Newsletter.

9 Reasons Creators Should Book A Traverse Events Conference NOW
A Chance To Learn From Some Of The Best
One of the best things about Traverse conferences is that they have a wide range of different speakers, all focussing on different abilities throughout the creator journey. Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been a creator for years, you will find sessions that are suited for you. In terms of variety, they also cover a wide range of different topics. KeyFrame focuses only on video content – something we know is VERY important in this day and age – and the official Traverse conferences focus on all aspects of content creation. Here’s an example of just some of the sessions I have attended in the past:
- Confidence on Camera
- How To Stand Out On Instagram
- How To Pitch Publications
- Using Storytelling For Better Writing
- How To Be Accessible With Online Content
The Incredible Destinations
Traverse conferences are always held in such incredible destinations. As part of the conference is to explore and celebrate the destination we’re in, it’s a great way to experience somewhere new (or a place you know and love) while learning some awesome new skills!
A few of the destinations I have had the chance to visit as a result of Traverse events are Rotterdam, Hamburg, Palma de Mallorca and more recently, Madeira.

Amazing Once In A Lifetime Opportunities
As the conferences are held in amazing destinations, a lot of the conference focusses on different experiences. This means that either before or after the conference is over, Traverse offers a range of different ‘experiences’ and post trips that you can go on.
Post trips are by application only but the ‘mid-week experiences’ are open to everyone on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Depending on the event there tends to be 2-4 days of mid-week experiences, where you can sign up for roughly 2-3 a day. I’ve had the chance to see sunrises above the clouds, taste local wines and even swim in natural pool as a result of mid-week experience at Traverse events.
I’m yet to do a post trip, but I have no doubt they’re also amazing!
SO MUCH CONTENT
As a result of the awesome experiences, there are also lots of chances to create content! Although it’s something you’ll do naturally, being with lots of other content creators who also want to create is always a great feeling! I always come away with loads of tips and tricks and new ideas when it comes to creating content.
Awesome Evening Events
As well as having the mid-week experiences and conference days, Traverse host evening events most nights. From cocktail receptions to gala dinners, I always look forward to our evening plans! My absolute favourite evening event was at their most recent event, where we had a sunset cruise. We saw dolphins in their natural habitat and got to watch incredible fireworks from our own private catamaran.

A Chance To Network With Brands
Most of the time, brands will also attend Traverse conferences. Whether they’re sending a representative or they have a stand set up on conference days, you will be able to chat them to discuss how you may be able to work together in the future. It’s a great way to meet PRs in person, potentially securing future work.
Side note: it’s also a great chance to meet the Traverse team, who also work on press trips!
A Room Full Of Like-Minded People
I cannot explain to you how amazing it feels to be in a room filled with people who just get it. I’ve had tome incredible conversations at these events and I love that there’s never any need to explain your thought processes as a creator because everyone understands. Ofc , it’s not always work and do have LOTS of fun too.
They’re Great Value For Money
I’ve been to lots of different travel events and as far as value for money goes, Traverse is definitely the best. With conference sessions, activities and evening events all included for around £125 – £200 depending on when you buy your tickets, you’re getting so much for what you actually pay! With lots of people also looking for shared accommodation, it’s also easy to join a group of people and make travel expenses cheaper too.
The Incredible Sense Of Community
Finally, I’ve saved the best u until last. The one thing that makes Traverse events so special is the incredible community they have built. I have met some of my closest friends through Traverse events and without their support, my blog and my business wouldn’t be where it is today. Everyone there, whether a seasoned regular or someone new, makes each event for me!
So, who will I be seeing at a Traverse event in future? Let me know if you’re planning on coming along!
