Over the last few months I have been having a little bit of a blog identity crisis.
It’s not my first, and it definitely won’t be my last – that I am sure of.
Basically, I had been doing lots of collaborations with travel brands towards the end of last year, but as a result of putting more of ‘me and myself‘ on my Instagram and Twitter feeds, plus size brands were also approaching me to work with them too.
I’d always wanted to do outfit photos while I am travelling and I LOVE putting them on my Instagram, but I was unsure if plus size fashion and travel even went together?
Finally, a niche?
So, I decided to spend quite a bit of time planning this out and I am so happy I can now finally combine two things that are such a big part of my life and make my own little, dare I say it, niche *shudders*.
I will continue to post the travel posts I always have, but I will be throwing in posts about plus size fashion (while travelling, mainly) AND plus size travel.
I definitely feel like plus size travel isn’t talked about anywhere near as much as it should be and my first post ‘Travelling While Plus Size’ had such incredible feedback that it made me realise people want this kind of honesty.
While doing a bit of content planning I have noticed more and more that in the travel blogging industry, much like others, plus size people are really not represented enough and if I change this even a *little* bit, I will be incredibly happy. I want to see more plus size bloggers being invited on press trips and being featured on travel brands Instagram accounts, but at the moment I personally don’t think that happens.
What can you expect from my blog in the future?
As I said above I am still going to post the travel posts you know and love (hopefully), but I will be starting to focus on plus size travel as well. This could include:
?? Plus size outfit and What I Wore In *insert country here* posts
?? Posts about what I have learned being plus size in certain countries
?? Tips for people who are plus size and travelling
?? My personal experiences
?? Plus size packing lists
?? SO MUCH MORE PLUS SIZE CONTENT
I’ve also made some fancy new buttons for my side bar so people can view just my plus size, or just my travel content if they want.
I feel that so often people think that being ‘fat’ means that you’re lazy, and I want to prove that it’s just not true. I will always travel, no matter what my size. I’ve travelled at size 10, size 16 and size 24 and each time I haven’t enjoyed my experience any different. Yes, they’ve all been a little bit different for obvious reasons, but it would never stop me from doing something I love.
Here’s to much more diverse content on Kirsty Leanne ??

Personally I totally agree that it is entirely underrepresented and I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s noticed. I know I’d LOVE to see more posts related to this.
I recently had a blog identity crisis myself. For many years I primarily focused on makeup and the occasional plus size look, but I feel like while I love those things there were so many other things I was interested in that I felt I couldn’t share. I wound up sticking to social media only for a year while I migrated my portfolio and my blog into one and its more general now but I know its what made me happy. Hopefully others will enjoy it now as well.
Anyway, I look forward to more article!
