Where Is Palma?
Palma is the capital city of Mallorca, one of the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain. The island is a popular vacation destination for Europeans and Americans alike. Palma is known for its stunning architecture, beautiful beaches, and vibrant nightlife.
How to Get There?
The best way to get to Palma is by flying into the Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI). The airport is located just outside of the city centre and is well-connected to public transportation. Once you arrive, you can take a bus, taxi, or rent a car to get around.

Admire Santa Maria de Palma Cathedral
If you’re looking to explore some of Palma’s incredible history, the best place to start is the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Palma. This Gothic cathedral is one of the most important buildings in Palma and is a must-see for any history lover. The inside of the cathedral is just as stunning as the outside, so be sure to take some time to explore!

Take A Trip To Bellver Castle for Incredible Views
Another must-see for history lovers is Bellver Castle. This 14th-century castle is one of the most well-preserved castles in Spain and offers stunning views of Palma. Be sure to explore the castle grounds and take some time to enjoy the incredible views! I jumped in a Taxi there as I was on a time limit but you can also get public transport or take a slow stroll over there.
Grab A Ticket For The Hop On Hop Off Bus
If you’re looking to explore Palma at your own pace, the best way to do it is with a ticket for the Hop On Hop Off bus. This bus takes you around all of the major sights in Palma and allows you to hop off at any stop that interests you. I definitely recommend this if you want to see as much of Palma as possible in a short amount of time!
Visit The Royal Palace Of La Almudaina
If you’re interested in learning more about the Spanish monarchy, be sure to visit the Royal Palace of La Almudaina. This beautiful palace was once the home of the Spanish royal family and is now open to the public. Be sure to explore all of the incredible rooms and learn about the history of this amazing palace!

One of the best ways to experience Palma’s culture is to go on a Spanish tapas crawl. Tapas are small dishes that are typically served with drinks and are a staple of Spanish cuisine. There are many great places to enjoy tapas in Palma, so be sure to ask around for some recommendations! My favourites are definitely Bar Espana and Bocalto Tapas.
Explore The Old Town
Palma’s Old Town is a great place to explore if you’re looking to get a taste of the city’s history and culture. The Old Town is home to many of Palma’s historical landmarks, as well as a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes. Be sure to wander around and explore all that the Old Town has to offer! This is definitely one of my favourite parts of Palma, as I love that so many of the shops have been there for hundreds of years and are still owned by the same families.

Enjoy A Drink On The Marina
If you’re looking for a relaxed and scenic spot to enjoy a drink, look no further than the Marina. This area is located on the waterfront and offers stunning views of the city. There are many great bars and restaurants to choose from, so be sure to find one that suits your taste! I always love grabbing a seat outside so I can people-watch and take in the incredible views.
Visit The Palm Grove Gardens
The Palm Grove Gardens are a must-see for any nature lover. These gardens are home to a variety of plant and animal species, as well as a stunning lake. Be sure to take some time to relax and enjoy the incredible views!
Stroll Passeig des Born
No trip to Palma would be complete without a stroll down Passeig des Born. This pedestrian street is lined with cafes, shops, and restaurants, making it the perfect place to spend an afternoon. Be sure to stop at one of the many cafes for a refreshing drink or bite to eat! If you’re in need of some last-minute essentials, there’s a H&M and Zara on this street.
People Watch At Plaça Major
If you’re looking for a lively atmosphere, head to Plaça Major. This square is located in the heart of Palma and is always buzzing with activity. There are often live music and street performers, so be sure to stick around for a while and enjoy the show! Just around the corner from Plaça Major is my favourite ice cream shop, definitely worth stopping by.
Relax in Parque de la Mar
If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, head to Parque de la Mar. This park is located on the waterfront and offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. The park is a great place to relax or take a stroll and is a must-see for any nature lover!

Treat Yourself To An Ensaimada
If you’re looking for a delicious treat, head to one of Palma’s many bakeries and try an ensaimada. Ensaimadas are a type of pastry that is traditionally made with pork fat and flour. They can be found all over Palma, so be sure to ask around for some recommendations!
Go On a Catamaran Cruise
One of the best ways to see Palma is from the water! There are many companies that offer catamaran cruises, so be sure to do some research and find one that fits your budget and interests. These cruises typically last a few hours and include stops at various points of interest, such as caves and beaches. The views from the water are incredible, so this is definitely an activity not to be missed!

If you’re looking for a breathtaking view, head to Nakar Hotel for rooftop drinks. This hotel offers stunning views of the city and is the perfect place to watch the sunset. Be sure to try one of their signature cocktails while you enjoy the incredible views! Mine, of course, was a Pina Colada.
Kayaking In Cabrera National Park
If you’re looking for an adventure, head to Cabrera National Park for a day of kayaking. This national park is located just off the coast of Palma and is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in Mallorca. Be sure to pack a picnic lunch and spend a day exploring this stunning national park!
Marvel at Casa Batlló
If you’re an architecture lover, be sure to visit Casa Batlló. This iconic building was designed by Antoni Gaudí and is one of the most famous buildings in Palma. The inside of the house is just as stunning as the outside, so be sure to take some time to explore! Whenever I’m showing anyone around Palma I always bring them to this building as I think it’s stunning – feels like you’ve transported right to Barcelona.
Wander Around Museo Fundación Juan March
If you’re an art lover, be sure to visit the Museo Fundación Juan March. This museum houses a collection of art from the 14th century to the present day. The museum is a great way to learn about Palma’s history and culture, and is a must-see for any art lover! Entrance is free, so it’s worth stopping by to see the stunning building as well as the art it holds.
See The Island On A Mallorca Jeep Tour
One of the best ways to see Mallorca is on a jeep tour. These tours typically last a few hours and include stops at various points of interest, such as caves and beaches. Mallorca is an absolutely stunning island and the views from the jeep are incredible, so this is definitely an activity not to be missed!

Head To Soller On A Day Trip
If you’re looking to escape the city, head to Soller on a day trip. This small town is located in the Tramuntana Mountains and is home to some of the most stunning scenery in Mallorca.
