Me and my boyfriend don’t often get the chance to watch a movie together as he works shift patterns, meaning he’s either asleep or at work when I get home most days. By the time the week is over we spend our Saturdays catching up or going out, so we don’t normally find the time to relax until a Sunday afternoon.
Our go to thing to do, though, is getting out our cosy blankets, sticking on a movie and pigging out on a whole load of snacks.
Whenever we run out of things to watch (all the time as we can never agree) we normally to a quick run to places like CEX and HMV to pick up some cheap DVDs, which I know probably seems quite old school nowadays as most people stream or use Netflix.
Sunday Afternoon Movie Club Recommendations
As I am sure I am not the only one who gets cosy with a movie on a Sunday night I thought I would share some of my favourites.
I watched this for the first time a few months ago and I think it quickly became one of my favourites as it is such a feel good film and makes you feel as though you can do anything. It’s about an older man who sees a job advert for a senior intern. He applies and obviously gets the job. I’m not going to give too much away but the movie will make you both laugh and cry through, it’s so good!
How to be Single
This is another hilarious, feel-good movie. Although what do you expect when one of the main roles is played by Rebel Wilson? If you’ve ever been through a crappy break up you’ll totally be able to relate.
Pitch Perfect (1&2)
For those of you that don’t know me well, Pitch Perfect is my all time favourite movie – which is why I had to include both in this list. My brother and boyfriend actually have a running joke that whenever they want to watch something they’ll say I won’t like it because it doesn’t include acapella…
If you like singing, dancing and cheesey as hell movies then Pitch Perfect is definitely for you.
This is possibly the newest movie on this list, but I did really enjoy it. Saying that I enjoy most things with Mila Kunis in. This is probably funnier to people that have first-hand dealt with stuck up mums at their kid’s school, but I still thought it was hilarious and I can imagine that is what I would be like as a parent.
Friends with Benefits
As I included ‘Bad Moms’ in this list, I thought I should probably include my favourite Mila Kunis movie. I have to admit, Friends with Benefits is pretty predictable, but it’s such a happy movie and has Justin Timberlake in it. *Don’t tell anyone, but I actually prefer his acting to his singing*. #sorrynotsorry
It wouldn’t be a Sunday Afternoon movie recommendation list if I didn’t include at least one Disney movie, right? Toy Story is one of my favourites and as I have just come back from Disneyland Paris I have the urge to watch all the best Disney movies again, starting with Toy Story 1, 2 and 3. Although, 3 is a little bit too emotional…
