New Discoveries #2

May 4, 2016
Last month I started a new series where I share with you the new foodie brands I have been trying and testing. I haven’t tried as many this month, but I thought I would share with you the ones that have stood out for me, which both happen to be drinks brands…
Ugly Drinks
I contacted Ugly* after seeing them pop up on Twitter, so I reached out to them seeing if they were interested in working with me. The lovely team sent me a couple of each of their flavours to try and I was super impressed.
The thing that intrigued me most about Ugly drinks was that it was completely unsweet with absolutely no sugars or sweeteners. It’s literally just sparkling water infused with natural fruit flavours. I was unsure how much of a difference it would make to the flavour, but it actually made it a lot more refreshing.
I have to admit, they were not as full of flavour as I thought they would be but I realised that it was down to the fact I couldn’t taste any sugars or sweeteners. As this is something I am used to, it was strange at first but after a couple of sips I didn’t seem to care anymore as the natural fruit flavours were so nice. I think the pineapple and grapefruit was my favourite, it reminded me of Lilt.
Finally, I absolutely love the design of the drinks can! If I was shopping it would definitely catch my eye as it’s so different to the simplistic cans from major brands.
Just Bee
I first discovered Just Bee* at an event last year, however they’ve had a little bit of a re-brands since then and I am absolutely loving the new look. So, when I saw they were working with bloggers I thought I would reach out to them and see if they wanted to work with me on a review.
Just Bee drinks are basically spring water made with a single drop of honey and natural flavours, making them all less than 50 calories each. There are three flavours all together: Lemon and Green Tea, Blueberry and Apple and Ginger.
Similar to Ugly drinks, Just Bee water has no sugar or artificial sweeteners. The honey however makes up for this and gives it a really natural, healthy and sweet taste. I really liked how it wasn’t a huge sweet overkill and it really complimented the individual flavours. The Lemon and Green Tea was definitely my favourite as it was super refreshing. I love flavoured iced teas and this reminded me exactly of that.
Another think I loved about Just Bee is that they included a sachet of free wildflower seeds that are completely bee friendly. I’m all about the campaigns to ‘save the bees’ (we used to hand out seeds at the zoo and it’s surprising how many people would say no) and any companies that support this are absolutely amazing.
If you want to plant some bee friendly seeds of your own you can even sign up for some for free on the Just Bee site.
If you want to read the first of my new discoveries, you can check it out here. Have you tried Ugly or Just Bee before? What should I try next?

Lots of love,

I tried Just Bee at an event a while back and they were really refreshing, I'm gutted I haven't seen them in any stores yet!
Ugly sounds an interesting idea, I'm hooked on my Diet Coke and these sound like a healthier replacement.. 😀

I'm an absolute sucker for good packaging, and often this helps me decide to pick up a food/drink item or not if I'm not sure or have never heard of different brands before. I'd most definitely pick these ones up as the designs are BEAUTIFUL. It's a real big positive that these drinks have no artificial sweeteners or sugar in them as well and you've most definitely sold them to me at least 🙂 Where can you get them from? Is it just in a certain country?

I want to try all of these! ahaha. Are they available in shops? The Just Bee – Lemon and free tea doesn't sound very appealing to me but I bet that is the one I like the most. Always the case!
