This is a collaborative post.
One of the most important things when it comes to working is having an office space that both motivates and inspires you. Although I work from home to give myself more freedom, I found that being able to create my own working environment was definitely one of the main reasons I wanted to be my own boss. At the end of the day, my office space was in my hands entirely.
A recent study by Free Office Finder has shown that millennial’s would rather have a better office environment, over other benefits and salary, when looking for a job. Whether it’s a job that allows you to work from home or position that requires you to work in an office, I agree that the environment you’re working in is incredibly important.
Although I haven’t got everything I need to complete my dream office just yet, I thought I’d share with you exactly what that looks like here:
Lots And Lots Of Colour
If you follow me on Instagram, you will already know that I am a fan of bright colours. As much as I like things to be minimalistic when it comes to homeware, I find that having an office that reflects my personality is the best way to help me work. Although I am not allowed to paint my office walls as part of my rental agreement, I do have lots and lots of colourful accessories dotted around.
Plenty Of Storage Space
Although I don’t have a lot of paperwork, I do have a lot of stationery that requires decent storage. Whether I use my office drawers or my shelves, I like to be sure I have somewhere to store everything. Not only does it mean I know where everything is, but it keeps my office clean and tidy.
Motivational Prints And Posters
Alongside my colourful accessories, I also like to have lots of motivational prints and posters on my wall. In the wall in front of my desk, I have lots of my favourite photographs and posts displayed, so this is usually where I add them. As I like to sit at my desk with my laptop this means that the quotes are always right there in front of me, all I need to do is look up.
A Comfortable Working Space And Office Chair
Another thing I need to ensure my office has (and I’m hoping to get it soon) is a comfortable working space and office chair. At the moment I am using a desk I bought from a friend four years ago, paired with one of my dining room chairs from downstairs. I’ve been eying up a new desk and office chair for a while so fingers crossed I’ll be able to purchase them soon. If only I would stop booking flights…
Plants, Plants And More Plants
Finally, I really need to start buying more plants for my office. Not only do they boost my mood but they help tie everything together.
What would your dream office space look like? Do you work from home or in an office building?
