Shoot for the Stars | Lush Bath Bomb Review | Blogmas #16 |

December 16, 2016

lush bath bomb

Most paydays my boyfriend will go and buy me a couple of bath bombs from LUSH, usually ones he knows I haven’t tried before. So, as he got me a few from the LUSH bath bomb Christmas range I would share my thoughts on the Shoot for the Stars Bath Bomb as part Blogmas!

First of all Shoot for the Stars looks amazing. It’s very blue with three golden, glittery stars on the top half of the bomb. It’s definitely one of their more simple designs, yet still looks so good. I guess it goes well with the whole Christmas theme too, as it is incredibly glittery.

The smell before I put it in the bath reminded me of the honey from the Easter Golden Egg bath bomb, one of my favourite LUSH scents but least favourite bath bombs. It’s not an overly festive scent but it does have a hint of orange which I guess at a push could be considered Christmassy… maybe.

I was really disappointing at how fast this bath bomb dissolved, I think it was probably less than a minute. The gold stars dropped straight to the bottom of the bath and dissolved a little slower, but I couldn’t see them through the dark blue from the bomb. One of my favourite things about LUSH bath bombs is watching them dissolve and make pretty patterns, but this was over way too quick.

When it was over it was super pretty though! The dark blue was very mermaid-esque and the gold glitter from the stars made it look even better. I think it was definitely the right amount of glitter too, as sometimes there can be a little too much (Golden Egg I’m looking at you).

To give myself some bubbles I used a whole (ooops) Christmas Penguin bubble bar, which is probably the second cutest bubble bar ever after Unicorn Horn.

Overall, I really don’t know how I feel about this bath bomb. It looked and smelt great (although a little more mermaid-like than festive cheer), but it was such a disappointment that it basically fell to the bottom of my bath instantly. Maybe I need to try it again? 😉

I think my cat, Dexter, liked it anyway. He sat on the edge of the bath the whole time then when it was time to go to bed I noticed he was covered in glitter, so must have been rolling around in the bath tub after I drained the water.

Have you tried Shoot for The Stars?

Haha – the image of your cat covered in glitter cracked me up. Sounds like something my cat would do, too, to be fair! I’ve got this one, picked it up in my Lush Christmas haul, but haven’t got around to using it yet. It’s a shame it didn’t take longer to fizz 🙁
