Whenever I travel somewhere new I always like to pick up a really cheap and tacky keyring as a little souvenir, usually, it’s something shaped like something symbolic from the place I’ve been. For example, I got an Eiffel Tower from Paris, a Hollywood star from LA and more recently a row of pretty houses from Wroclaw.
Having a little keepsake on my keys is great, but they really don’t last long at all. They fall apart, rust and god forbid I ever lose my keys! Come to think of it, I really should start thinking about collecting something more practical when I go abroad.
I started this tradition when I was quite young and it’s something that’s always stuck, but now I am older I really want to start collecting something that’s a little less… tacky.
That’s where GiftsOnline4u come into play.
At first glance of their site you’re probably thinking ‘a gift shop that sells champagne, glasses and flasks has nothing to do with travel memories?’ – right?
Well, that’s where you’re wrong.
GiftsOnline4u helped me created this engraved wrist watch, which features one of my favourite photographs from my recent trip to Poland. I used the simple-to-use website tool to design the face of the watch, choose my engraved message for the back and waited patiently for my order to be confirmed.
I wasn’t going to mention this but I thought I’d let you all laugh at my expense – I had the wrong date engraved on the back of the watch. I literally ordered it the day I got back from Poland (11th April) and still put Wroclaw Poland, March 2017. Ooops.
Only a few days after I made my order my watch arrived and I fell in love immediately.
I opted for a rose gold face (duh) and a brown leather strap and I think they go really well together, especially with the bright contrast of the colourful Wroclaw houses on the face. It’s so pretty to look at and I’ve already had tonnes of compliments asking where it’s from. I almost feel bad telling them it’s a one of a kind 😉
I know the site is a gift site and a personalised watch would be PERFECT as a birthday present for a travel lover, but I’m kinda loving the idea of buying one after each of my holidays. It’s a non-tacky way of making your travel memories last even longer.
How would you personalise yours?
