What to Expect from Kirsty Leanne in 2017

Kirsty Leanne 2017

Last year was a bit of an odd one in terms of content. I don’t feel as though I ever really had a plan and I was just writing just because I felt I had to keep pushing content out to stay relevant in an extremely competitive industry. I that ultimately, this is why towards the last few months of the year I ended up posting things I wasn’t 100% proud of.

This year I have decided that I am no longer going to post just because I think I should, but instead I am going to write about things that are important or interesting to me. I’m only going to work with brands I think are in line with my blog rather than take every opportunity I am given AND I am going to make my blog more a part of me than ever. And do you know what? I can’t bloody wait for Kirsty Leanne 2.0 (yes I’ve named it).

So, with that in mind there are a few things that are going to change around here…. 😉

New Design

I have been playing around with my design for months and months and I have never fully been happy with it until now, FINALLY. I had a little play around with my Pipdig layout (Aruba Nights if you were wondering) and added a little bit of my own HTML in to create this new look. I’m not going to lie, the Lifestyle, Books, Beauty and Food buttons underneath my header were inspired by the amazing Ashton Jade and her stunning new layout – but I couldn’t resist trying something similar for myself.

New Content

Blogs are supposed to have a niche, right? Well, mine hasn’t ever really had one and I don’t think it ever will – properly. I have a lot of interests and a lot of things I am passionate about so I want to be able to share them all with you, including the ones I have been too scared to post about.

I am now going to be posting about a mixture of lifestyle, books, beauty, food and drink, home and interiors, blogging advice and careers. It’s a lot, but I am going to try my hardest to make sure my posts are varied and that I don’t cover only one topic one month then forget about it for five months.

I think the two topics I am most excited about adding are Blogging Advice and Career, as they are two things I have wanted to talk about for a while but I was worried I wouldn’t be taken seriously as I am nowhere near an expert. I have, however, have been working in Digital Marketing for just over two years and I have learnt a lot that I would like to be able to put into useful posts for bloggers every now and again.

As for the ‘Career’ section, well, it’s actually a huge part of my life. I have always been career orientated and I thought I would use my blog as a way to show this – sharing tips I have learnt along the way as well as sharing my career journey with you.

Work with Me

In an effort to up my game I have FINALLY updated the ‘Work with Me’ section of my blog, including a page about the new advertising slots I will be offering each month. These will be starting next month so if you’re interested in booking a spot you can find out more here.

My Twitter normally has quite a steady growth rate going on, so this year I am going to be focussing mainly on Instagram. I used to post 1-2 times a week and I wasn’t really seeing any engagement at all, so I’ve upped my game and I now post 2-3 times daily. My followers were rising quite fast to begin with but they’re steady again now, which is driving me up the wall. I WILL do this.

I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for my little blog, eeeeek!

This is similar to me – I’ve started 2017 with a new look, new schedule, new outlook! I’m so bad at instagram at the moment though – that’s a work in progress… But I really like your new look! I look forward to reading your posts more 🙂

You should never feel pressurised to write things if you’re not feeling it. Everyone gets writers block occasionally, it’s normal! Nevertheless I am really looking forward to Kirsty Leanne 2.0 and also can’t wait for more youtube videos! xxx

My mission is simple. I want to help change the way travel looks, showing both brands and society that plus size people really do travel too. In a community where plus size travellers are made to feel unwelcome, I want to inspire and advise people like me on how they can make the most out of their own incredible travel experiences.Join me as I share my own personal experiences, my best tips and tricks and all of the challenges I face along the way. It won’t always be an easy ride, but it sure as hell will be a fun one.

Together, we can change the way that travel looks today
