When it comes to holidays, it’s not always easy to have what you want. And that can be incredibly disheartening. Because you work hard! And everyone needs a break. Yet, we don’t always let ourselves have one. Maybe you’ve had other commitments this year? Or you just can’t get the time off of work? When that’s the case, and there’s nothing that you can overly do about it, you need to stop pressuring yourself and find an alternative instead. And while you may not be able to go away this month or even next, you could plan to have a winter break instead. Because there’s nothing quite like having something to look forward to! Now, the only question you need to ask yourself is – where should you go?
If you’re used to heading on holiday in the summer, it can be hard to think about what you should do in the winter months. Maybe you even tend to go to the same place? And that really can make it all the more harder! So you have to think outside of the box. You need to be thinking about the different kinds of holidays that you can have, that will work at a different time of the year. And not only that, but the different destination that could work for the kind of trip that you’re planning too. So, let’s work on giving you a little winter break inspiration.
Autumn In America
Now, of course, we’re going to get a trip to America included in here somewhere! And the best part is, that America in autumn is just so pretty. You’ve probably seen the pictures of Boston in fall or New York leading up to winter? The east coast can look incredible during the off-season months, making it the perfect time for you to fly stateside to explore!
Then, there’s always the idea of winter sun! Because when you don’t get to go away for the summer, you still want to want to enjoy a beach holiday but during the winter months. However, you may not be able to just pop on over to a Spanish Costa for this. Instead, you’re going to want to consider some long-haul options, or even somewhere like the Canary Islands so that you can get the weather you want.
Another incredible option available to you is the idea of heading out to a Christmas market this winter. During December and even sometimes November, you get to explore some sweet Christmas setups in countries like Germany or France. So this could be the trip that you start planning for today.
New Year’s Ski
Then, there’s the idea of skiing. This is definitely something that you might want to plan in for early next year so that you have something to look forward to (and a bit longer to save). Here, look into private ski school and chalet options that might work for you. Then, you can start to think about getting your ski gear together in time for the trip.
But there’s also a good old-fashioned city break to think about too. Sometimes, the European cities that you want to visit the most will be really hot in the summer months. So heading out in October or March could be a better bet for you. Whether we’re talking Rome or Vienna, this could offer you the kind of holiday you want, and also help to broaden your horizons too.
Cabin In The Woods
Next, you may even want to plan a trip to your local countryside. During the winter months, what could be more appealing to you than heading to a cute cabin and sitting by a beautiful log fire for a few days? This could be the escape and relaxation that you really want in your life at this time of year.
And last but not least, maybe you’d even like to go on a staycation? But instead of thinking about doing a UK break a few hours drive away, why not stay a little closer to home? Sometimes, you don’t need to jet off to an exotic location to get the break away that you need. If you know that you already live in a beautiful part of the country, why not make the most of it? Book yourself into a gorgeous local hotel, enjoy dinner in some of the best restaurants around, and get outside to explore the local scenery.
It could be exactly what you need to feel refreshed this year.
