I absolutely love Halloween and as I’m now living back in my home town, as soon as October rolled around I thought it would be really cool to plan a Halloween Movie Night for me and my family. I had loads of cool ideas to put into action and for me, planning the night was almost as fun as the night itself!
The theme was #ScreamHomes and as I was on a strict budget I knew I had to be careful what I bought, but I knew I definitely wanted food, games and movies. I spent hours browsing through Halloween party ideas on Pinterest and finally built a list of everything I wanted to do.
Next came the fun part – shopping! I got everything I needed from either eBay, Wilko, ASDA or Tesco (yes, that’s a lot of shopping) and overall spent just over £50.
A lot of the preparation involved baking, but I had so much for creating these Halloween themed treats. I made some orange and green Halloween cupcakes, pumpkin patch cupcakes, chocolate covered apples and some spooky Frankenstein and Dracula iced biscuits. I think I spent near enough a whole day baking, but it was worth it for all the cheeky spoons of cake batter amazing treats I made!
Sticking with the movie night theme I also bought some M&Ms (standard cinema chocolate, don’t you think?) some spooky green popcorn, Space Raiders, lollipops and orange soda.
The decorations were one of my favourite things to buy I think. I had no idea what I wanted to get when went shopping so I ended up getting so much including napkins, table cloth, hazard tape, real pumpkins, decorative pumpkins, Halloween cups, a cauldron (for the popcorn of course) and all the Halloween confetti I could find. I had so much fun decorating the treats table, I wish I could do it like that every day.
The movies we picked to watch are some of our favourites, and ones I will never get bored of – the Final Destination movies! We picked number three and five, as they’re definitely the best out of all five. While we were watching the movies we all had a ‘Horror Movie Bingo‘ card to cross off if something we had appeared! Unfortunately, I didn’t win… such a sore loser.
I really enjoyed hosting my Halloween Movie Night and my family all said they really enjoyed it too… especially the pumpkin patch cupcakes as they were the first to go.
Have you got any party plans this Halloween? I’d love to know! How about a Halloween Movie Night?
