If someone had told me in 2019 that I would spend 18 months at home and not travelling, I probably would have laughed at them. You see, travel is a huge part of my life and for the last five or six years, I would always be on the go. Whether I was visiting friends in the UK or heading further afield for an adventure, travel was my passion.
Unfortunately, as we all know, those with a passion for travel have now been grounded for what feels like an eternity. With the pandemic putting a hold on all things international travel, I have had to find ways to keep my love for travel alive without leaving the house.
The best way to do that, of course, has been through my home interiors.
From my ‘desert-themed’ garden to my LA-inspired office desk, I have found myself incorporating travel into every room of my house bit by bit.
Showcasing my love for travel with Desenio
As I live in a rented house, I don’t actually have a lot of creative freedom when it comes to decor. I’m not allowed to paint the walls and for the most part, I can’t make any major changes.
While it’s frustrating, it does mean that I have to use my creative skills to personalise my home in a way that means something to me. Enter: Desenio.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you will know that I have used Desenio to make the most of the empty space throughout my home in the past. They sell stunning pieces of art alongside a wide range of different frames and as a result, you can mix and match to make the perfect gallery wall.
While I already have some Desenio prints up on one wall in my living room, the big green wall along the back of the room was looking a little bear, so I decided to spruce it up with a few travel-inspired prints. I’m so excited, I thought I’d talk you through some of my favourites:
Adventure awaits poster – this was one of the first prints I choose as with the world starting to open up, I have that constant feeling of excitement that comes with an upcoming adventure. I feel like all of my adventures are going to mean SO MUCH more now and this poster is a little reminder that good things are on the way.
Travel the world poster – again, this was bought as a result of the excitement that’s building now the world is starting to open up slowly. I LOVE that it’s like an old-fashion departures board and just looking at all of the destinations listed makes me excited to choose my next trip. Milan? Barcelona? Amsterdam? Who knows!
World map water colour poster – I actually have a smaller version of this print in my office but I love it so much, I couldn’t resist getting a larger one for the living room!
