Although my blog is primarily about my travels, I love taking outfit photos and I wanted to try and find a way to incorporate two of my favourite things in one post. The solution I’ve come up with is a holiday-outfit-photo-diary type thing, with plenty of dreamy photos of the outfits I’ve been wearing while exploring the world.
If I am being honest, I didn’t think in a million years that my first outfit photo diary would be one from my holiday in Mallorca. Photos of me in my swimming gear were probably the last thing I wanted to be posting all over the internet, that is until I discovered the incredible swimwear in Yours Clothing*.
If you know me well, you will know that Yours Clothing is my all time favourite clothing store. I’d say around 80% of my current wardrobe is from there as I find that they sell comfortable, fashionable clothes that suit my body shape. As a size 24, it’s not easy to find that kind of quality in high street stores.
So, with that in mind, can you imagine how incredible it was to hear that they wanted to send me some bits to take on my most recent holiday? (spoiler alert: it’s pretty damn incredible)
I picked a range of swimwear and some outfits I thought would be suitable for the hot weather in Mallorca, and oh my god, did I feel amazing. There’s nothing like a killer outfit to make you feel confident and that’s exactly how my picks from Yours Clothing made me feel.
If you have been keeping up with my latest posts (here and here) you’ll know that I lost my passport while I was in the airport on the first day of my trip. This meant money was limited and our day plans ended up being spent at the pool where we had all inclusive drinks, meaning 80% of my weekend break I was chilling in my swimming stuff (100% not a problem as it was lush).
For our first day by the pool, I decided to wear this stunning Blue & White Hibiscus Floral Print Swimdress. I was not expecting to love this as much as I did and honestly if it was acceptable to wear this every day I would.
I am always a little bit conscious about covering up when I in a swimming costume, but with this swim dress I didn’t feel like I had to. The skirt at the bottom was just the right length and didn’t get in the way while in the pool, which I find happens with most swim dresses I own. The V neck and padded support also meant I didn’t have to worry about flashing any unsuspecting holiday goers…
There’s just something about the swim dress that makes me feel confident and sexy. Something I haven’t felt in a very long time.
I paired the outfit with my trusty blue aviators from Newlook as well as a very old black kaftan from Primark, which may or may not have been borrowed from my Mum’s wardrobe pre-holiday.
The next day I switched it up a little and went for the very colourful Tropical Print Plunging Swimdress. Although it was a swim dress, the fit and style was completely different to the blue and white hibiscus one from the day before, which I loved.
The back of this dress had a cross over design which gave it a halter neck feel at the front. It was a little difficult to get back into when wet, but other than that I cannot fault it.
I think my favourite thing about this outfit was the print as I love anything that is bright and bold, especially when it goes so well with my bright orange hair like this did. I wore it with my New Look sunglasses and my ‘Hello Summer’ slogan hat from Boohoo.
I’m now feeling the need to book a million sunny holidays so I can lounge around the pool all day, roll on Croatia at the end of September!
