Living your best life is exactly that. Living a life that’s fulfilling and rewarding is possible, but combining that with a luxurious lifestyle just takes a couple more steps in the right direction. Incorporating these easy life hacks will give you the boost you need, and show you just how simple luxury can be and guidance for blowing off some steam in the UK.
Learn to Say No!
This doesn’t sound luxurious: but when you have got to the point in your life when others look to you for advice and help,; it’s all too easy to keep saying yes to everything and, in turn, you have given up everything you have worked for by spreading yourself too thinly.
Saying no doesn’t mean you can’t give someone a leg up. You can, just be choosy and remember helping doesn’t mean paying out. Hard-earned advice is worth its weight in gold. Listen to Confucius when he said, “Give a man a fish, and you’ll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you will feed him for a lifetime”. This also applies to women, it’s not just a man thing!
Turn Your Phone Off
I know you’re thinking What! But if the call is really important they will call back, email you back. Being available 24/7 isn’t good for you or your business. In fact, a simple out-of-the-office email lets people know you’re concentrating on a project, or simply taking time off to be more productive.
This also applies to social media. Stop chasing the likes; they mean nothing in the long run if you’ve killed your eyesight and given yourself ugly tech neck. Dowager’s hump is unattractive to anyone. Don’t know what that is? Don’t Google it for at least 20 minutes. Give yourself a break.
Break Bad Habits
This may not seem luxurious, but it’s actually the best thing you can do for yourself. Quality of life is an important luxury, and if you’re being held hostage to bad habits you’ll never be able to enjoy what you have achieved. Breaking bad habits makes you feel in control, and when you feel in control you feel more confident.
It doesn’t have to be a serious habit, but if you have one of those you should seek professional help straight away. Silly bad habits like not doing your washing until you get to the point when you have no clean underwear, no? Just me then. Or eating too much junk food or overbooking your schedule so that, as a result, you let people down.
All these habits, and others, can be dealt with by giving yourself 5 minutes thinking time and asking, ‘Do I need that doughnut; do I need another pair of shoes? It’s all about setting yourself up to succeed and focusing on repeating good habits, not bad ones.
Get More Sleep
This is a luxury, and easier said than done. The more we want to sleep the less likely we will be able to sleep. It can be very much like a never-ending cycle that leads to stress and anxiety. So what can we do to stop thoughts and worries whirling through our mind in the middle of the night?
Rather than rely on medication you should try to maximize relaxation before going to sleep. in order to do this make sure your bedroom is tranquil, calm, and cool in temperature. Avoid caffeine at least 2 hours before going to bed as well as excessive alcohol. Alcohol can lead to a night of disturbed sleep.
If it’s at all possible stop doing any mentally demanding work several hours before going to bed in order to give your brain time to calm down. Even try a warm bath or reading an undemanding book. To make sure you get a good night’s sleep, go to bed at the same time each day so that your mind and body will get used to a predictable bedtime routine.
Remember a relaxed mind is a productive mind. All of this is all well and good, but the most important way to maintain your luxurious life is to become financially stable.
Start a Savings Account
Financial security is key. You don’t have to make a lot of money, but being debt-free and having a small nest egg will help stop the worry. The key to saving is to do it often and consistently. You don’t have to save a lot, but by putting a little away and not touching it, you will be surprised to see how quickly it mounts up.
If you really need to shop there are lots of apps and websites that offer discounts and money-back schemes. The best way to stop spending needlessly is to have a goal and your goal is to maintain a luxurious lifestyle.
What you may have realised by now is that a luxurious lifestyle is not about being rich, but being enriched and hopefully helping others to do the same.
