Nighttime Skincare Routines Are So Important – Here’s Why

Nighttime Skincare Routines Are So Important – Here’s Why

It’s not just your body that is regenerating and resting during the night, so is the skin on your face. Cell regeneration is at its all-time high at night time, meaning it’s the perfect time to help it out and address some skincare concerns. Find a skincare routine that gets you the maximum benefits of the night time repair process. You want something that is nourishing and hydrating, whilst also addressing any problems you have. It’s a solid piece of the day where you won’t be touching your face or moving product around, meaning it has the longest opportunity to do the most. With it being nighttime, you also don’t have to rush around like in the morning to be ready on time. Take some time out to really pamper yourself whilst doing your nighttime skincare routines. Make it a special relaxing time, call it self care.

Ideally, these are the steps you want to be taken at night. You could stick to the same skincare brand, Neom have beautiful products or mix them up depending on your skin’s needs.

Double cleanse – A double cleanse is more effective at night time to take off any makeup and then to make sure it’s fully off. Have you ever just cleansed your face once, gone to use your toner and realised there was a lot left in the little nooks and creases? That’s why double cleansing is so important. Fully cleanse your skin so there’s nothing left on there from your day. Whether that’s makeup or pollution.

Tone – Toner waters are no more, now it’s all about a toning treatment. Glycolic, retinol, vitamin c, you can get toner water to suit your every skin need. At night time a glycolic or retinol toner would be best as those can give visible results with prolonged use.

Serum – At night your skin has the longest time to absorb anything you put on it, that’s why a serum designed to help any skincare concerns is perfect to use before bed. You could use something anti-ageing, for spot-prone skin, hydrating, it just depends on what you need.

Moisturise – It may seem like you’ve already done a lot to your skin but you’re not done yet. Next, you need an all-over moisturiser, preferably something that compliments the rest of your skincare ingredients. For most people, this will be something really moisturising and anti-ageing.

Eye cream – Finish off with a light coating of eye cream on the most delicate part of your skin, your eyes. Again for this area, most people will be looking for something anti-ageing that works on fine lines and wrinkles.
