If you have ever wanted to order clothes from Shein.com but you worry about whether or not the fit or quality have been right then don’t worry, you have come to the right place. As a regular order of plus size clothes on Shein, I have picked up lots of tips and tricks to ensure I never get a bad item.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Shein but for a long time, I put off ordering from there because I thought I wouldn’t be able to find anything to fit. Knowing that the clothes would be coming from China, naturally, I knew they were going to be a few sizes smaller than I’m used to. After braving my first order and coming away with SO MANY new dresses that I loved, I was definitely a convert. Now, I regularly use the site for holiday clothes and affordable items that I know I’m not going to get anywhere else.

Don’t Search By Size
One of the worst mistakes you can make is searching by size because you can’t guarantee that everything is going to have the same fit. If you search by the size that you think you are – usually this is in 5XL, 4XL, 3XL sizing – you’re limiting yourself to the number of items you can view.
Make Sure You’re Checking Measurements
The best way to search for items is to look at the plus size section on a whole, opening a tab for each item that you like. Once you’ve opened a couple of tabs you can start to look through the measurements for each item. The best thing to do is start with the size you think you will be, working out whether or not the measurements will work for you. If your size isn’t right, click around until you find the size that will fit. Whether that means sizing up or sizing down, measurements are the key to getting the right fit each and every time.
If you choose an item and it doesn’t have your ‘standard’ size, the best place to start is with the highest size available. If it doesn’t match up to your measurements chances are it’s not going to fit.
Don’t Buy Everything In The Same Size
This goes without saying, as you should be checking the measurements for each and every item.
I’ve learnt the hard way that finding one item that fits and ordering everything else in the same size just doesn’t work.
Use Size Charts To Help Gauge Available Sizes
One of the best things about Shein.com is that there are lots of different size charts available to use. My favourite one and the easiest one to use is when you click on each size on the product page, as the measurements hover above the size you have selected.
If you want to view all of the sizes side by side, you can scroll further down the product page and click ‘view sizing chart’.
Not only are these sizing charts the best place to see all of the necessary measurements, but they’re the best place to compare which size is going to be a better fit for you.

Read Customer Reviews To Find Out If Products Are High-Quality And True To Size
Although there are lots of measurements handy for you to check, you should always ensure you are scrolling down to the bottom of the page to read the customer reviews. Not only will this give you an idea as to whether or not the products are true to size, but it will allow you to see whether or not the quality is any good.
Although items may look like they’re high quality in the product photos, often you will find that they’re an awful material or prone to breaking. Reviews are a great way to ensure you’re buying something that is a good value for money.
Look Out For Customer Photos On Reviews
If you are going to be looking at the customer reviews, you might want to ensure you’re looking out for reviews that include photos. These are a great way to see what the product looks like through someone else’s eyes, rather than the eyes of Shein and their marketing team.
The site will give people the option to share their size so if you’re worried about whether or not an item will suit your body shape or your size, you can look for customer photos to help you decide.
Customer photos have definitely saved me from buying A LOT of bad products in the past.
Tips For Saving Money On Shein.com
If you’re also looking to save money whilst ordering on Shein.com, I’ve picked up a couple of tips and tricks in this area too:
Use My Discount Link
For 15% off your first order, you can click my link here.
Review Products To Earn Points
Although the points don’t add up to much, reviewing the products that you have ordered will help save you money off your next order. If you want to gain the maximum amount of points, you should aim to attach a photo to each review.
Points don’t last forever, so you might want to save reviewing your previous order until just before you make your next one. However, it’s worth checking this guide from AlixBlog.com on how to use points effectively to save money.

Sign Up To Their Newsletter For Daily Deals
Whilst daily emails can get annoying, I love seeing what deals they have to offer to newsletter subscribers. Whether 10% off or £30 off orders £130 or higher, it’s well worth signing up to their emails if you’re going to be making regular orders.
Wait For A Deal Or Offer To Be On
Although there is nearly always a deal or offer on, often they have MEGA deals. I think one of the best I found was 30% off orders over £90, which meant I got around £140 worth of clothes for just £95.
The best thing to do is check back to the site regularly, signing up for their newsletter for more information.
I find that putting items in my basket and saving them for big sales is the best way to make shopping with Shein.com as easy as I possibly can. If I check back every week and add a few items here and there, it’s not long until a deal pops up and I can order.
Don’t Pay For Express Delivery
Finally, I wouldn’t recommend paying for express delivery as most of the time, it doesn’t arrive on time. For the sake of three days difference, you’re saving yourself £12.
