Now that I have been spending more time at home, I’ve realised just how much I didn’t enjoy the time that I spend hear pre-COVID.
With endless possibilities when it came to travel, I felt much more comfortable getting out there and seeing the world than I did spending an evening at home watching films and if I could help it, I would spend as little time at home as I possibly can.
That, obviously, isn’t a choice now and as a result, I have had to discover how to fall in love with my home during the lockdown. While it hasn’t been easy, I’ve picked up some tips and tricks that I thought I’d share with you.
Create A Small Space That You Love To Relax
As I didn’t have the budget to change my whole house, I found that creating small places that I love to relax has been one of the best methods in helping my fall in love with my home. I choose to focus on the living room at first and as things started to get colder, I have created a cosy space that I now love to spend time each evening. From the cosy blankets to the cute candles, I’ve got everything I need.
Consider Any Small Changes You Can Make To Your Rooms
Again, if you’re low on budget, you can spend some time considering the small changes that you can make to your rooms. Whether it’s painting some of your old furniture a new colour or moving a couple of things around, you may be surprised at how much difference it can actually make.
Stay On Top Of Repairs And Cleaning Duties
Cleaning makes a HUGE difference in how you feel about your house and now that you have more time at home, keeping on top of things should be a little easier than they once were. I try to do one big clean a week, topping it up as I go along each day.
Consider Using This Time To Make Home Renovations
If you have the budget to do so, you may want to consider using this time to do any major home renovations. Whether this means changing the flooring in some of your rooms or completely stripping the walls and starting again, there are lots of projects you can get to work on now that you have a little more time at home. Invest In New Furniture And Accessories
Finally, why not consider investing in new furniture and accessories? Just a few small changes can make a huge difference to how you feel about your house and when it comes to furniture, that’s an incredibly easy one to switch out for something new.
With lots of small changes to make, you can be sure you’re doing all that you can to fall in love with your home during this difficult time. Now that we’re spending lots of more time at home, this is going to be incredibly important moving forward.
