If you have been following me for a while then you will know that I absolutely LOVE to travel. Whether I’m heading off on a solo adventure or I’m exploring a new city with someone special, my passion is seeing everything the world has to offer.
While some people think that having a love for travel gets in the way of dating and relationships, I honestly believe that they’re a great mix. Me and my partner travel together often and without it, our lives wouldn’t be half as interesting, I’m sure!
To help show you that travel and relationships are not mutually exclusive, here are 5 reasons that travelling with a date is the best:
You Get To Know Each Other Better
Whether you’ve been dating for years or you recently met on a Glasgow dating site or somewhere similar, travelling together is a great way to get to know each other better. Not only do you get to spend a prolonged amount of time together but you get to experience new things with one another, giving you both the time and the environment needed to bond with someone further.
You Get To Create Some Incredible Memories
It’s no secret that travel is one of the best ways to make memories and if you’re travelling with a date, you get to make those memories together. From exploring the Kelvingrove Museum while Glasgow dating or heading to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a glass of Champagne, everything you do together will become a special memory that you’ll remember for years. No matter how big or small they are!
It’s Easier To Set Boundaries
If you’re travelling with family and friends, often it can be difficult to set boundaries. Whether you don’t want to do a specific activity or you need a rest day, when there are lots of other people involved, it can be difficult to get your point across. When there are just two of you travelling, however, it’s much easier to set boundaries and let your partner or date know that you’re feeling uncomfortable. They will completely understand and as a result, you’ll find your trip much more enjoyable.
You Get To Try Things You Wouldn’t Have Tried Before
One of the main reasons I love travelling with my boyfriend is that he makes me try things I probably wouldn’t have tried if he wasn’t there. From hiking certain places to going on boat trips, he definitely makes me feel a little braver than I actually am.
Whether you’re trying their favourite activity or you’re doing something that may have scared you in the past, travelling with a date always brings out the best in you.
You Won’t Get Lonely
I love solo travel but sometimes it can get a little lonely. When travelling with a partner you feel comfortable enough to say you need your own space, whilst feeling as though you’re not alone throughout your trip too. As Hannah Montana would say, It’s the best of both worlds!
Do you travel with your partner? Or have you ever travelled with a date? What’s your favourite thing about it?
