Summer is finally on its way and with the weather starting to get a little bit warmer, I’m dreaming of all of the places me and my partner will get to visit this year. We LOVE going on day-long dates (often weekend-long dates) and after a year in lockdown, we’ve now got a list longer than… ahem.
Although some of these options definitely require an overnight stay for us, depending on where you’re located they could be the perfect day trip.
Whether you’re browsing ideas for potential dates that you met on your local Aberdeen dating site or you’re on the complete opposite end of the country and Shropshire dating with your boyfriend of eight years instead, having a couple of date ideas lined up is the perfect way to make planning as simple as it can possibly be.
So, here are just some of the places we love (or would love) to visit for a cute date during summer:
London
Although it seems obvious, London is actually the perfect place to head for a date if you live close enough. With SO much to do, you literally have hundreds of different options for your day and if you’re making a weekend of it, there are also lots of beautiful places to stay.
From strolling the canals at Little Venice to exploring the bustling streets of Shoreditch, you can’t go wrong with a quick trip to the UK’s capital.
Edinburgh
If you’re Aberdeen dating, Edinburgh is definitely a much better option for those looking for a city trip. With a short 2-hour train that leaves early in the morning, you and your date could be exploring Edinburgh castle in absolutely no time at all.
Perfect for those that love Harry Potter, Edinburgh really is a great place to explore as a couple.
Chester
I have mentioned before how much I love Chester and although it’s a city, it doesn’t quite feel like it when you’re wandering around the old ruins and the riverbank. It’s such a beautiful city and with tonnes of incredible food options, you could easily take a slow stroll around before enjoying a meal and heading home.
If you’re staying overnight, there are also lots of beautiful hotels to choose from right in the city centre.
Whitby
If you’re looking for a beach break, Whitby is one of the best options in the UK. Located in Yorkshire, Whitby overlooks the North Sea which on a beautiful and sunny day, looks absolutely breathtaking.
Whether you simply want to enjoy a cone of chips on the beach or you’re brave enough to try your hand at climbing the 199 steps, you’ll definitely be spending the whole day making lots of incredible memories with your date.
Now that restrictions and lifting and travel is back in the UK, I am SO excited to start planning all of the places we’re going to be visiting. There’s nothing I love more than travelling with my boyfriend and I am so excited to be able to do that again soon. Where will you be heading first?
