Although it may not seem like it, one of my favourite things to do when travelling with friends is to visit places that are a little bit … naughty.
From BDSM museums to peep shows, there are so many fun and ‘somewhat educational’ places to visit while you’re travelling, all of which have a twist.
I know travel is currently on pause for a lot of the world but in the hopes to remain positive, I wanted to share some of the naughty places I have visited in the past as well as some that I’d love to go to once we’re allowed to travel again.
5 ‘Naughty’ Places To Visit On Your Travels

The Sex Museum, New York
When it comes to sex museums, The Sex Museum in New York is probably one of the most well-known. With 15 exhibits, five virtual installations and more than 15,000 erotic artefacts, it’s definitely one of the biggest *ahem* in the world. With sex education at it’s core, The Sex Museum in New York is a lot different to it’s comparisons.
While I haven’t had the chance to visit yet, it’s definitely somewhere that I want to go on my next trip to New York.

The Vagina Museum, London
When Florence Schecter saw a huge gap in the market when it came to erotic museums, she decided to open up The Vagina Museum in London. Located in Camden market, The Vagina Museum is all about educating everyone on topical issues such as the history, culture and basic science of the vagina. With exhibitions, events and an AWESOME gift shop filled with vagina merchandise, you could easily spend hours brushing up on your knowledge.

Sexmuseum Amsterdam Venustempel, Amsterdam
If you’re into something a little more hardcore, the Sexmuseum Amsterdam Venustempel may be for you. Having visited the Sexmuseum a couple of years ago I can confirm it’s actually incredibly educational, featuring exhibits on the Red Light District, fetish dating and ‘Sex Through The Ages’. It does, however, have the odd comical aspect that makes it perfect for a trip with friends, including the opportunity to take a selfie with a giant… penis.
It is world’s first sex museum AND the oldest, with it’s doors opening more than 34 years ago and not closing since (other than for the pandemic, of course).

Sex Machines Museum, Prague
Okay, now we’re onto the hard stuff. Whether you’re the kind that regularly tries to find a dominatrix or you’re just a little bit curious, the Sex Machines Museum in Prague will likely answer any questions you have about the world of BDSM. With more than 200 sex appliances scattered throughout three floors, you can see the abundance of extraordinary and unusual ways that people choose to pleasure themselves.

World Erotic Art Museum, Miami
Finally, if you’re in to art, the World Erotic Art Museum is the perfect place to stop by in Miami South Beach. With 20 exhibitions that show sex through the ages, the museum teaches you all you need to know through the beautiful medium of art.
Although they’re not to everyone’s taste, I always try to fit one or two wildcards into a travel itinerary, especially if I’m on a trip where I know the people I’m with will love it too. After all, you can’t go wrong with an afternoon of giggles and a little bit of sex education.
