Although I haven’t had a chance to visit in 2020, I always seem to find myself back in Liverpool at least once a year. Whether I’m visiting for an event or I’m there with friends, Liverpool is one of my favourite UK cities to return to time and time again.
One person I have never visited with, however, is my boyfriend.
For some reasons, our timing has never been right and although we’ve wanted to go on many weekend getaways to Liverpool, it’s never actually happened.
With lots of UK travel on the cards for the next year or so, I thought I’d come up with a list of fun date ideas for if you’re ever looking to do a little bit of Merseyside Dating.
Whether you’re meeting someone you met online for the first time or you’re going on your 100th date with your partner, Liverpool is definitely a great city for a guaranteed good time.
4 Fun Date Ideas In Liverpool
Go For A Delicious Meal And Drinks At Royal Albert Dock
Whenever I’m looking for a great place to eat and drink in Liverpool, I always head down to the Royal Albert Dock. With Gusto, Revolucion de Cuba, Madre and lots of other incredible restaurants all within one small walk from each other, you can easily decide what you want to eat once you arrive. Once you’ve enjoyed your meal, The Smugglers Cove and The Pumphouse are a stone’s throw away for any after-dinner drinks and antics you may want to enjoy 😉
Have A Go At Mini-Golf With Ghetto Golf
Some of my favourite dates with my boyfriend have been the ones where we do something completely and utterly ridiculous and honestly, Ghetto Golf more than fits into this category.
For those that don’t know, Ghetto Golf is an indoor mini-golf course with a little bit of a twist. From suggestive obstacles (🍆) to the bright neon lights and graffiti, you won’t know where to look when you’re *ahem* hitting your balls.
Ghetto Golf not only makes for a fun evening but if you’re worried about not having anything to talk about, it can help break those silences where you’re worried about what to say with lots of laughter and giggles instead. A perfect choice for some Merseyside dating!
Consider A Bottomless Brunch Date
Another favourite thing for me and my boyfriend to do when we’re visiting a new city for the weekend is to go for bottomless brunch. Although it ends in some pretty questionable decisions for the rest of the day, I am a firm believer that you cannot beat a bit of day drinking, especially when it’s bottomless for a good two hours. If you head to Neighbourhood you can have unlimited vodka, gin or prosecco for 90 minutes but if you’re looking for something a little different, Ma Boyles and Revolution have the option to have unlimited Aperol Spritz.
Embrace The Music-Scene
It’s no secret that Liverpool has a huge music scene so if that’s something you and your date are into, you should definitely embrace it during your visit. From seeing a live band in one of the many live venues to visiting The Beatles Story Exhibition, there are so many amazing music-themed dates for you to go on.
I’m hoping it won’t be long until we’re able to visit Liverpool together, especially now that I’ve put together a bucket list of date ideas we can try!
