Oh my gosh, is anyone else excited that the sun is FINALLY making an appearance? After what feels like MONTHS of rain, I am so so happy that I can finally go outside without an umbrella.
My boyfriend and I have a date night box that we pick from every Wednesday and Sunday and for at least a month, we had to say ‘can’t do that one’ to basically every idea we picked out because they were not suitable for torrential downpours.
Now that we can enjoy the sunshine a little more and that summer is fast approaching, I thought I’d share four date ideas that my and my boyfriend will be doing over the next few months. Whether you’re planning dates with your partner or you’re doing a little bit of local Oxfordshire dating with people from an Oxfordshire dating site, these dates are perfect for when the sun is shining.
Go For A Walk
I thought I’d start with the most simple date idea because honestly, you can’t go wrong with a good walk. We have lots of local walks near to where we live so when the weather starts to get better, our go-to is usually somewhere local with a good view. Of course, if you live in a city it may be hard to get out into nature, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go for a walk around the city. You never know what you may find!
Take A Delicious Picnic To The Park
The great thing about the sun shining is that you can literally sit and do nothing for hours on end and it still classes as ‘having plans’. One of my favourite ways to do that, especially while there are still some restrictions in place, is to have a picnic in the park. All you need to do is grab a cosy blanket, pack your favourite food and spend some time in the sun. You can take a book to read, listen to some music or just simply spend the time enjoying each other’s company.
Spend Some Time On (Or In) The Water
Whether you live near a beach or a river, spending some time on (or in) water is always good for the soul. You could rent kayaks and go out for the day, try a spot of wild swimming or even consider a boat trip. It’s such a great date idea and if the sun is shining, you’re bound to have a great time.
Throw Yourselves A Garden Party
After a year of lockdowns, we’ve gotten pretty used to sitting in our gardens, so what could be better than a little garden party for just the two of you? You get all the fun of a garden party, without any of the stress of invited everyone and cleaning up afterwards. If you’ve got a hot tub, you can even end the night listening to music with a couple of glasses of gin.
Now that it’s starting to get warmer, what date ideas are you and your partner planning? Would you do any of these for a first date? Let me know!
