Pirlo's Dessert Lounge Review - Birmingham

A couple of weeks ago my and my boyfriend headed to Birmingham for a day of shopping and food. Although I live quite close it's not often I get the chance to go into town and have a mooch around, so I was super excited and booked a whole day off from work for our date. Despite my manager saying it's only Birmingham, not Paris...

Pirlo's Dessert Lounge had opened a few days beforehand and as I missed their launch night they kindly invited me to come down to review when I was next free - perfect timing!

I've never actually been to a restaurant that is dedicated only to desserts so I was really excited to see what all the fuss is about. After seeing so many positive reviews and photos from the launch night I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed.

When we got there it was pretty quite so we got out pick of where to sit, so obviously I picked with the best lighting and we made ourselves comfortable. The decor was really nice and you can tell a lot of effort had gone into planning how the restaurant looked, I loved the low hanging copper lights above each table and when I get my own place I am definitely stealing this idea...

After a very long time trying to decide what to order our waitress, Roxanne, came over to chat. She was so friendly and recommended a couple of things because I was finding it hard to narrow down my choices. I ordered a Nutella Milkshake with Marbled Chocolate Waffles and Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream, while my boyfriend ordered a Ferrero Rocher Milkshake and Creme Brulee.

Our milkshakes came first and both were amazing, although I much preferred the Ferrero Rocher which my boyfriend wouldn't share. Apparently it's because it was made with actual Ferrero Rochers so there were bits of chocolate in it, which are my favourite in milkshakes. The Nutella one was delicious though, so much so I had polished it off before my dessert even arrived.

When our desserts arrived me and my boyfriend had a little bit of a photo-off seeing who could take the best photos (I won don't listen to what he says), before tucking in to the most amazing puddings I have ever tasted.

I don't like Creme Brulee so I didn't get to try that, but my boyfriend said it was delicious. The waffles were probably the best waffles I've ever had. Both the waffles and the marble chocolate were still warm, which was absolutely amazing. To top it off the chocolate brownie gelato was delicious, although I would have liked a little more

Overall I was super impressed with Pirlo's Dessert Lounge, especially as they'd only been open a couple of days. The service and food were both amazing! Will you be paying them a visit?

Lots of love,
