A Little Life Update

I haven’t done a life update for a couple of months and as they are one of my favourite kinds of blog posts I was dying to write another - so much has changed since my last one too!
Health

In my last post I mentioned that I had joined Slimming World as I had set myself the goal of losing four stone this year. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as well as planned. After four or five weeks of going I ended up giving up and have no put on the weight that I lost. I’m really struggling with this aspect of my life at the moment but yesterday I took a step to help change this forever. I’ll definitely be keeping you updated on this, but as it’s early days I think I’ll save this one.
Another thing I mentioned in my last update was the pain with my knees, which since my last post have gotten a lot worse. I have however decided to stop taking my Tramadol now unless I really feel like I have no other choice, as it was affecting my work and I didn’t want to take too much time off.
I’m currently seeing a specialist for the problems I have with my ankles/legs, although my last one was a little different as I couldn’t do any of my physio because of the pain in my left knee. This meant that my movement is now much worse so I have some new heel supports I need to wear both in and out of the house.
Finally, the specialist measured the lengths of my legs and found out my right one is 2cm longer than the left - which she thinks may be the main cause of my knee pain. I’ve been given a 0.4mm and 0.6mm heel lift to help bridge the gap, however at the moment all it’s doing is causing me even more pain. Fingers crossed I start to notice the difference soon.
So there’s not really any good news yet but I have been referred to a physio that will be starting next month, so fingers crossed next time I do one of these it’s with better news…

Blogging

It’s almost half way through May and I’ve managed to post every Monday - Friday since the start of January - I’m so pleased. I’ve even started fashion posts after saying I will do them for well over a year now!
My Twitter has grown massively too, going from around 2,200 followers to almost 4,000 in a couple of months. I can’t believe it and still feel like it’s not real, where did all these lovely people come from!? I am trying to get to 4,000 by the end of the month so if you don’t already follow me you totally should.
Events

In my last life update post I mentioned that I had quite a few events coming up, included the Makeup Revolution 2nd Birthday Party and #NWMeet - both of which were AMAZING. I got to meet some of my blogging heroes, drink lots of cocktails and catch up with some of my favourite people. What could be better?
I’ve also started organising my next West Midlands event, the #BloggerTikiParty! I’m really excited as it’s going to be held in the middle of summer in a tiki bar, with lots of amazing brands involved. I’ve been planning most nights over the last few weeks and it’s really coming together with a little bit of help from the amazing Ashton Gibbs. I can’t wait to spend the day with some of my favourite bloggers, drinking pina coladas and talking all these tiki and pineapple.
Work
This has been a little bit of an odd one lately as up until a few weeks ago I was ready to hand in my notice and look for another job. Things were a little up in the air and I felt like my department had been left in the dark a little, so after talking to my manager I thought that leaving would be the best thing for me. That’s changed completely now, and today (when I write this) I’ll be in a huge meeting discussing the future of the department.
Things are starting to look up on the career front, so I am both nervous and excited about things to come in this area. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

So, that’s everything… I think.

How is everyone else? 😉

Lots of love,

I am in awe of you posting every Monday to Friday - that's amazing! I struggle with 3 times a week! I LOVE the idea of a blogging event in a Tiki bar, how fun!

Glad to hear most things are going so well! I have one leg shorter than the other, and terrible knee pain as a result, and can honestly say the heel lifts did help. They took ages to get used to, but they are worth persevering with. Good luck! x http://www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
