A Short Trip To Leeds: Photo Diary

Believe it or not, until last weekend I had never been to Leeds ‘properly’ before. I once walked from the coach station, to an event, then back to the coach station – but I don’t think that counts, does it?

I’ve always wanted to go as I have heard such incredible things and I have so many people I want to meet that are from Leeds, but it’s pretty pricey to get to from the Midlands and up until now, I didn’t really get the opportunity to go explore.

SO, when I was invited to speak at #BlogAtTheBeach at The Duke Studios in the heart of Leeds, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to book an overnight stay and do a little exploring the next day with Ashton and Amy. After the event we were all pretty knackered so we had a few drinks at the Alchemist, went to see Greatest Showman and then crashed at the hotel with a Domino’s Pizza. The perfect girly night.

The next day we woke up when the emergency alarm went off (oops) and had to get ready incredibly fast to be able to check out on time. Of course, that didn’t happen and we checked out of the hotel, the Cosmopolitan, a little later than planned before making our way to breakfast.

Recommended by Alex we decided to go to Archie’s for breakfast and although it was incredibly Instagramable, I was not impressed with my incredibly small portion of cold pancakes. I WISH I had ordered something else as Ashton and Amy’s breakfasts looked incredible, but you live and you learn. After a bit of a photo sesh with our breakfasts and a browse in Primark, Amy suggested visiting the Arcades as I wanted to see something ~pretty~.

They did not disappoint.

I loved the detail that has gone into making each and every Arcade different and it’s own, my favourite definitely had to be the County Arcade. The green and gold made it look so so so stunning, I could have taken a million different photographs. As we didn’t have long to explore Trinity, the shopping centers or the Arcades I 100% want to come back for a bit of retail therapy at some point.

After walking around for a little longer we decided to go to The Corn Exchange (as so many people were recommending it) so I could get some outfit photos, and so we could grab a coffee. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by such a lovely building. The exterior alone was incredible, but once you step inside and you’re surrounded by an array of boutique shops and one of the most beautiful roofs.

Unfortunately, we didn’t stay much longer than that as there was a long journey ahead of me, but I left Leeds knowing that I want to come back for longer next time. What I have seen already is beautiful and I get the impression it’s an incredibly ‘foodie’ place, something I really want to explore.

Have you been to Leeds before?
