My Favourite City Breaks of 2017 (So Far)

This year I have made it my mission to go on as many City Breaks as I can, whilst not breaking the bank or using too many of my holiday days at work. I think I’ve actually done pretty well as I’ve managed to visit Paris, Wroclaw (twice), Amsterdam, Chester, Palma, London and Dusseldorf.

Although I’ve been on quite a few breaks, there are definitely a few stand out city breaks that have been my favourite. These are the ones where I have wanted to go back to explore more and the ones that have truly left their mark.

🇫🇷 Paris

Back in February, I visited Paris with my boyfriend. We went on a four-day break and in my opinion, that is nowhere near enough. We spent three days exploring the city and then one at the happiest place in the world – Disneyland. We had such a great time, we’ve actually booked to go back in Autumn and will be spending two days in the city and four at Disneyland – eeek.

I think what I loved about Paris was that every corner you turned there were beautiful buildings and something new to explore. The Eifel Tower was better than I had ever expected and I loved being able to visit the Louvre and wander around the Notre Dame – it was all so magical.

The food was also incredible and although I ate mainly crepes and Disney themed foods, I’m hoping to be a lot more adventurous when I go back.

🇵🇱 Wroclaw

If you’ve read my blog before you probably would have guessed that this one was coming. Wroclaw is probably one of my favourite cities I have ever visited (so far) and I am 100% certain that this is a place I will be going back to over and over and over…

The streets in the old town are lined with some of the prettiest buildings I have ever seen in my life and if you’re visiting on a weekend then the whole atmosphere around Rynek square is like something out of a Disney movie – it’s so happy and surreal.

Dotted around the city are over 300 dwarf statues for you to find and I have to admit, it makes the whole experience incredibly fun. I was always on the look-out and I’m not ashamed to admit how proud I felt when I found one that was in an incredibly unusual place.

If you ever get the chance I’d 100% recommend visiting Wroclaw at some point in your life, you won’t regret it.

🇳🇱 Amsterdam

I visited Amsterdam back in May with a couple of blogging girls and it was such a good trip. I loved walking around the canals and again, it was somewhere with incredible buildings. I’m starting to sense a theme here…

I really loved the food and nightlife in Amsterdam as it made it a really fun trip, despite the fact we didn’t really cover a lot of ground in terms of what we did – although how can you when you’ve only got two and a half days?!

All of my other trips have been amazing experiences, but they are definitely the ones that have stood out to me so far. For more information on how to book an incredible city break for yourself, visit the Great Little Breaks site here.
